March Updates

March was a very dry month for Penrose. Our normal spring storms did not provide us with any measureable precipitation. The ditch riders were very busy finalizing the cleaning of the canals to prepare for the 2016 irrigation season. We have scheduled 4/11/16 to begin running water to the shareholders.
Beaver Park Water has hired a new ditch rider for the middle lines to replace Ronny Beldin as he plans to move to Texas to be with his family. The new ditch rider is Charles McGuire. Ronny’s last day will be April 30th; this will give Charles some training on the lines before Ronny leaves. Charles can be contacted at the same phone number 371-4313. The training process takes time, so your patience will be greatly appreciated. Any question, concerns or comments please contact Tom Lilze, Superintendent at 371-4311.

As a reminder, the assessments were due April 1st.  If assessments are not paid, you will not be contacted for irrigation water. Beaver Park Water Inc. does permit assessments to be paid in two parts; half by April 1st and the second half by August 1st. There will be an additional $10.00 administrative fee to take advantage of this payment plan.

Brush Hollow is at 89.5 feet, with 93 feet full. Beaver Creek is running between 16 c.f.s. on warm days and 5.3 c.f.s. on the colder days. It is difficult to determine what we may receive in snow melt as our water comes from the South side of Pikes Peak and currently there is not a measuring device providing snow totals. Bottom line, we need a good spring storm or two to start the year off right.
Please make note Tom Lilze, Superintendent encourages shareholders to sign up for a tour of the system. Contact Tom at 371-4311. If you are new to the system it is strongly suggested as the tour will provide you a good understanding of how the system works and where to water comes from.
