Due to
the drought conditions and the low level in the Brush Hollow Reservoir, we had no
choice but to request the use of our 172-acre feet to be delivered from Skaguay
Reservoir in hopes of providing all of our shareholders one irrigation this
season. This was scheduled for a deliver of approximately 8 c.f.s. for 10 days.
As of yesterday, according to CPW we have already received 97-acre feet of the
172. Brush Hollow Reservoir is currently at 69.66 feet which is extremely close
to our shut off number of 69 feet. Either tomorrow or the following next day
there will no longer be water in the lower ditch. We have sent letters to all
of those who irrigate via pump share and asked for all pumping to be suspended.
All irrigations will be delivered
directly from the upper ditch.
AG Met
sensor for the month of June is only showing precipitation of .37 inches of
rain received in Penrose so far. If the forecasts are correct, we are scheduled
for rain showers this week, this is the best news that we can expect for now.
On a
different note, our ditch rider Carl Angerman who has been with Beaver Park
Water just a little over one year; has accepted another position in Canon City.
Today is his last day with us. We wish him well with his new endeavors. Due to
the lack of water at this time, we are not replacing his position. All
shareholders that Carl was responsible for on the West Side should contact
Connie Johnson, Superintendent at 371-4312 for any questions or concerns.
As
always…please pray for rain…
