2016
irrigation season was completed as of November 15th. The ditch riders successfully delivered four
irrigations to the majority of the shareholders. It has been a crazy summer for
Tom. Training two new ditch riders, repairing several delivery lines, balancing
the water received from Beaver Creek and dispersed through the system into
Brush Hollow and out again to irrigate without storing water as we were not in storage
priority most of the summer. Sounds crazy but with some planning and daily
physical monitoring, Tom and staff were able to accomplish it. Unfortunately
the only thing missing was rain, which made irrigations very critical especially
on newly planted fields. The new ditch riders started this spring without
knowledge of the system and ended the season working as a team that Beaver Park
Water can be very proud of.
Since
the weather was without snow or moisture, the staff mowed the upper ditch and
work on the road to the Diversion. After shutting off the Lake to the lower
ditch the fish trap was cleaned out of any fish that made it to the trap area.
The staff removed approximately three five gallon buckets of fish, mostly
catfish and transferred them back to Brush Hollow.
As
we are moving towards the end of 2016, a reminder to those shareholders with assessment
balances. A monthly interest fee is charged for every month with a balance owed.
If you are unable to pay the entire
balance, monthly payments are encouraged.
