2011 Irrigations Stopped Until Conditions Improve July 1-17 Readings

As you can see from the readings we have had less than 1 cfs (cubic feet per second) at the diversion for all but 3 days in July. From the 5th to the 14th we had zero cfs creek flow at our diversion. The Division of Wildlife has been irrigating their hayfields on Beaver Creek and very little of the flow being passed through Skaguay is reaching us here in Penrose. We are still hopeful, but until conditions improve, for this season, irrigation will not be resumed.

HOW DRY IS IT IN PENROSE?
A fellow on K Street said he'd killed a mosquito that was carrying a canteen.
A man 2nd Street said the chicken farmers were giving the chickens

crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.
On R Street they caught a 20 lb catfish that had ticks on it!
But just this week, on 3rd Street a fire hydrant was seen bribing a dog.
It's so dry in Penrose that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling,
the Methodists are using wet-wipes,
the Presbyterians are giving out rain-checks,
and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water.

Now THAT's Dry!
