About Us

Beaver Park Water, Inc (BPW) is a non profit mutual ditch company representing the interests of 575 shareholders in the community of Penrose, Colorado. We are located at the intersection of US Hwy 50 and CO Hwy 115, in eastern Fremont County.

The area was developed in the early 1900s by Spencer Penrose and his partners as an agricultural district to supply food to the Cripple Creek and Victor goldmines. The community site was then divided into 40 acre tracts with water supplied by a state of the art gravity fed canal system originating from the 180 square mile drainage area on the southern slope of Pikes Peak.

Local interests didn’t own water rights for the community of Penrose until 1976 when BPW, Inc purchased Beaver Park Company from Colorado Springs Utilities. BPW, Inc was organized to keep ownership of the water rights in this community.

Presently, the community of Penrose is both agricultural and residential in nature. All water, whether used for irrigation or domestic use is obtained from Beaver Creek . All water rights are owned by Beaver Park Water Inc., which provides irrigation and, via lease arrangements, water for domestic uses.
