October
brought us a broad range of weather with days in the upper 80’s and low’s in
the teens. We remained mostly dry until the end of the month when our fall
season turned into Winter with 6-8 inches of welcomed snow.
The month
continued with our out of priority status of not being able to store water. The
ditch riders continued to deliver water. We started out with one head of water
shared back and forth amongst the 3 ditch riders and when the water in the
creek increased each of the ditch riders had enough water to make deliveries on
their lines. When the snow arrived, many shareholders opted out of receiving
water due to the freezing conditions. Perfect timing, as our status changed and
we are able to store water at this time. Due to the fire restrictions, mowing was not
an option. However, many of the screens to cover the water boxes were designed
and made specifically for those individual boxes. A hammer drill was purchased
to permanently secure the screens to the tops of the boxes.
A
reminder to all shareholders; address labels and documents will begin to be
prepared for the Annual Meeting to be held next February 29th. If
you have changed your mailing address or contact phone numbers, please contact
the office now to avoid not receiving the important documents regarding the
annual meeting and your obligation to either attend or select a proxy. This is
VERY important!
Shareholders
that are over two years delinquent in their assessments will be receiving a
letter in November requesting payment in full or payment arrangements approved
by the Board of Directors prior to February 28th, 2020. Should you
fail to follow through, your water shares will be auctioned off at the Annual
meeting. It is not the Board’s intent to do this, however it is all
shareholders responsibility to pay assessments towards the operational costs of
keeping the system running. Any
questions or concerns regarding this, please contact the office at 719-372-3664.
