WOW did January 1st surprise us with a low
temperature reading of -14.50 degrees and high for the day only reached 12.60. Penrose
also has been the recipient of welcomed SNOW
In our area. However, it only equated to .50 of an inch of precipitation.
We are expected to receive more snow towards the end of the month which we will
be grateful for.
The relining of the upper ditch project is progressing
with a total of 630 feet completed and an additional 200 ft. scheduled to be
completed by the end of the month. This project is completely funded by Grant
Money awarded to us.
Unfortunately we are unable to run water in the upper
ditch during the relining project and we have been distributing water to
Penrose Water District directly from Brush Hollow. Currently Brush Hollow only
has 79 ft. and no additional water is being supplemented at this time. A
decision will be made soon when the relining project will end for the year.
It is almost that time again….our Shareholders Annual
Meeting is scheduled for February, 23rd at 1:00 pm in the Gymnasium
at the Penrose Elementary School. All notices were mailed on the 15th
along with proxy information. IT IS
VERY IMPORTANT THAT EACH SHAREHOLDER EITHER ATTEND THE MEETING, CHOOSE A PROXY
AGENT OR SELECT THE PROXY COMMITTEE TO REPRESENT THEIR SHARES AT THE MEETING. If
a quorum is not reached any shareholder who is not represented by any of the
above selections will be charged a fine of $5.00 per share. IF YOU CAN’T ATTEND
PLEASE MAKE YOUR SELECTION AND EITHER BRING YOUR PROXY TO THE OFFICE PRIOR TO
THE MEETING DATE OR NAME and GIVE YOUR PROXY TO ANOTHER REPRESENTATIVE WHO WILL
BE ATTENDING.
Meeting highlights - As of now, it appears that there
will be shares available for auction after the meeting. It is entirely possible
that those shares could be paid up at the last moment and not auctioned. An
announcement will be made that will enhance the stability in Beaver Park
Water’s income for the next several years to come. A Board of Director Seat is
being vacated. We do have one shareholder that has been an intern with our
current Board of Directors for the past two years who has announced that he
will be running as a candidate. Any Shareholder may run for the open position,
should you be interested please be prepared to speak at the meeting regarding
why you should be elected to the Board.
