It has been a very hot and dry month with little precipitation; .31 of an inch was recorded at the AG Met sensor in Penrose. Temperatures primarily in the upper ninety’s the majority of the month. Due to the drought conditions and the fact that we are only receiving 1.30 c.f.s. in our upper ditch at this time; the creek water is being used for domestic water processing. Domestic water usage for the month due to the dry conditions is extremely higher than normal with reporting of over 1 million gallons used more than once for a daily reading. This weeks’ Drought Monitor revealed that currently we are now in the severe drought classification in our area.
Skaguay has finally placed telemetry in their system for
out- going monitoring levels we can see on-line. This is will be most helpful
rather than getting reports weekly and guessing what is actually being released
down beaver creek. Connie has been attempting to replace our sensor into Brush
Hollow so our data will be back on-line. The process has been a struggle as the
pipe that carries the sensor down into the Lake was compromised with debris, decayed
crawdads and broken pieces of fish tape that secures the sensor down the pipe.
After many attempts and several days of constant work, she finally had success.
The Brush Hollow data should be up and running soon after the programming is
adjusted and rebooted.
The ditch riders have spent many hours prepping and painting
the inside of the shop. This project was originally scheduled as a winter
project but due to the lack of water, the winter projects have begun.
Unfortunately, due to the fire restrictions we were unable to get a jump start
on the mowing so painting came first. Painting should be completed this week.
The COVID 19 restrictions are still in place and it appears
that our next Board of Directors Meeting will continue to be limited to Board
Members, Superintendent, Engineer and Office Administrator. However, please
keep in mind, should you have business that you would like to present to the
Board of Directors you must make an appointment to be put on a schedule. Call
372-3664 at least one day prior to the meeting. You will be asked to remain in
your vehicle until your scheduled time, wear a mask in the office, sit only
where designated and once your business is concluded you may not remain in the
office. We are so thankful to our shareholders for understanding the concern to
keep everyone as safe as possible so that soon we may return to normal
procedures…. thank you!
