November update
November was an exciting month for the ditch riders. Not
only did we end the 2015 irrigation season on November 15th but were
able to deliver four irrigations to most shareholders throughout the system.
On November 16th the upper canal was shut down
for repairs. Wilson Construction is replacing the pipeline on two critical
areas of the upper canal, at KP creek crossing and Bear Creek Crossing. Not
only are they replacing the pipeline with a larger diameter pipe, they are
replacing approximately 750 feet of cement lining in the canal that had deteriorated
or crumbled off. This will prevent the water loss we have been experiencing. Work
should be completed by the end of December.
Winter finally arrived in the form of snow on Thanksgiving.
Temperatures dipped below freezing for several days and finally warmed back
into the 40’s at the end of November. Snow amounts were not much in our area,
but the changes in temperatures were very noticeable.
If you have changed your address or telephone number, please
contact the office. Several shareholders did not receive water this past year
as there was no way to contact them. Don’t let this happen to you.
