Penrose experienced an extremely dry month with no recorded
precipitation per the AG MET sensor. High temperature for the month was 91
degrees and the lowest recorded temperature was 37. With the lack of moisture,
we are using Brush Hollow more for irrigations. Currently the reservoir is at
84.8 feet. Beaver Creek is currently running at 19.6 c.f.s as measured at the L
Street Weir. Compared to previous months this is the lowest it has been since
the beginning of irrigation season.
The ditch riders are finishing up third irrigation
deliveries and should start 4th irrigations prior to the end of this
month. The ditch riders have been challenged all season utilizing the upper ditch
water through line transfers. With less water coming down the creek; the upper
ditch is only being used for irrigating those who only can receive water from
the upper ditch. This changes the scheme of delivery and takes a while to
adjust the water. There is more coordination required as they all are using mostly
the lower ditch.
For those shareholders that have assessment balances,
interest will be charged monthly and billed out monthly. All shareholders with
open balances will not be eligible for irrigation water. Those accounts behind
for two years will be subject to forfeiture and shares will be auctioned at the
shareholders annual meeting in February 2016. Letters will proceed auction
providing the opportunity the delinquent shareholders to bring their accounts
current and in good standing. It is highly suggested that if you are unable to
make full assessment payments in April; monthly payments should be considered.
We have several shareholders that currently make payments in this fashion with
successful outcomes. Our goal is to make
it attainable for all shareholders to make assessments without the stress of
one large payment. Additionally we have made a two payment process available
for those wishing to pay one half of their assessments by April 1st
and the 2nd half by August 1st. There is an additional
$10 fee added to the balance to use this payment method.
