March Update
March was a weather roller coaster in Penrose. According to the AG Met sensor in Penrose, the low for the month reached 2.4 degrees with a high of 77.6 degrees. Moisture received was .73 of an inch, however some shareholders on the north side of Penrose, reported significantly more.
Due to the fluctuating weather, cleaning the canal was difficult to schedule. The upper ditch has some issues we are still looking for the best solutions to at least get us through this irrigation season. Monday March 30th our upper ditch was so full and the creek was running at 30+ CFS; that in order to keep from spilling over the canal, a decision was made to start irrigation water to those shareholders on the upper ditch. This is will count as the first irrigation for the season.
Assessments are due April 1st. Shareholders have an option to pay assessments in two parts; half by April 1st and the 2nd half by August 1st. If this option is chosen, a $10 processing fee is added to the final balance.
