January update
Happy New Year to everyone! It has been a busy month
preparing for the Annual Shareholders meeting. For those who didn’t receive
their annual mailer packet, the meeting is scheduled for February 28, 2015 at
the Penrose Elementary School located on Illinois St. Meeting will promptly
begin at 1:00 pm. If you didn’t receive the information packet, please stop by
the office and a new one will be prepared for you. The cover sheet is very
important as the bottom of the document is the proxy form which must be
returned to the office if you are unable to attend.
2015 assessment invoices will be sent out following the
Annual Shareholder meeting. Assessments are due and payable by April 1st.
Those wishing to pay assessments in two parts, half by April 1st and
the 2nd half by August 1st will be subject to a $10.00
processing fee. Reminder to all shareholders, accounts that are not in good
standing will not be eligible to receive irrigation water. The ditch riders
will not contact them when water is in their lines; it is the shareholders
responsibility to make sure assessment has been paid.
This is also the time of year that you should make sure we
have your current mailing address and contact number. Without these, we are
unable to contact you. Many times the ditch riders have passed by a location
due to the incorrect phone numbers on file. Don’t lose your opportunity to
receive water when it is available.
The weather in January certainly followed the typical
Colorado pattern. The low temperature was recorded at -3.5 degrees with a high
of 72.6. We received .22 inches of recordable moisture. Currently Brush Hollow
Reservoir is recording 75.37 ft. at the staff gage and the L street weir is
measuring 10.6 cfs entering into our system. It may be difficult to determine
at this time if irrigation season will be like last years. More snow and
rainfall will be needed prior to the beginning of the irrigation season.
