April 2013 Updates
April’s rain and snow provided the Penrose area with .36
inches of recordable moisture and we are in line for more spring rain/snow
towards the end of the month. Recorded temperatures varied from 10.3 to 73.9
which has delayed many of the trees from budding out. We are ready for spring
but the April weather patterns are imitating winter.
The first week of April was a very busy time in the office
with many of the Shareholders paying assessments. There were occasions that our
parking area was full. It was a pleasure meeting some of the shareholders I had
not met before and a joy to see those that I don’t see very often.
The staff is watching the creek flow very carefully with
hopeful anticipation that we just might be able to begin irrigation. This is
totally based on the water flow remaining consistent long enough to begin
without shutting it down in a matter of a few days. Should it be determined
that the water flow will support the start of the irrigation season, irrigations
will begin where we stopped last year. Ditch
riders will contact those shareholders to prepare for receiving the water.
Shareholders must have assessments paid in good standing prior to receiving
water. If your account is not current, you will not be considered for receiving
water.
Should you have questions or concerns about how and when
irrigations may begin, please contact Tom Sanders at 371-4313.
