September update

September provided us with a few days of cooler temperatures; however we have primarily remained dry in Penrose with the exception of Sept 12th when we actually received some recordable moisture. We are thankful that the weather patterns have provided rain to the Pikes Peak Region again this month. Beaver Creek continues to supply enough water to maintain Penrose Water District’s domestic use needs.

The Staff has been very busy with project work on the ditch system and preparation work for the K St project. The K Street Project is scheduled to begin in November of 2012. The ditch riders will be rotating layoffs beginning October 1st due to lack of available work. This does not affect the office staff. The office will maintain established operating hours Monday-Friday.

Shareholders with delinquent assessments were sent past due notices at the beginning of September. Delinquent assessments have been charged the interest rate of 18% per annum. The interest rate is calculated by month. Interest charges will be assessed and processed at the beginning of every month. In efforts to avoid additional charges; accounts should be paid in full as soon as possible. Assessments are levied in order to pay for debts, repairs and proper operation of Beaver Park Water, Inc.
