June was hotter than usual with temperatures well into the
90’s. We were fortunate to receive over two inches of rain for the month of
June according to the AG Met sensor. The sensor reported that one inch was
received on Saturday, June 29th.
The ditch riders have been plenty busy delivering second
irrigations this month. Our Superintendent has been working with Alex our
newest ditch rider covering the West Side and is doing well at performing all
the tasks. You can contact Alex at 719-371-4310.
Several attempts to fix a line on the West side has revealed
that a blockage on another property is causing the water to back up in the
newly repaired site. So back to square one, with digging up and replacing
another part in the line to correct the problem. Scheduling the repair for the
3rd time in process, hopefully third time is a charm! In addition to
this line 5 on the west side developed a problem and the line will need to be
replaced.
A BIG THANK YOU goes out to Butch Faoro (one
of our Board of Directors) was kind enough to place a culvert at our J street
transfer line making it much easier to access the transfer location.
Just a reminder, if you haven’t paid your assessments the
ditch riders will not put you on the schedule for irrigation deliveries. The
only reminders are the monthly statements sent to you showing your open
balances. If you have questions concerning your balance, please call the office
at 372-3664.
Pray for rain, after crops are cut and baled….
