January has been mostly cold temperatures 30’s and 40’s for
the highs with a couple of days reaching highs into the 60’s. Temperature low’s
have dipped down into the teens at night. Unfortunately, we have had little to
no precipitation with the AG Met sensor only recording measurable precipitation
at .14 for the month.
The staff has been busy mowing the lower canal and cutting
out trees that are growing along the canal. A few gates have been replaced with
new or refurbished gates throughout the system. They are continuing to place
covers on boxes that had not been replaced last year. There are several lines
that will need to be repaired due to leaks that are on the schedule. Mowing
will continue on the upper canal with the staff rotating the mowing duties
throughout the week.
The Annual shareholder meeting announcements are ready to be
mailed out to all the shareholders. The packets will be mailed no later than
Monday, January 30th. The Annual Shareholder’s meeting is scheduled
for February 25th at the Penrose Elementary School. Please mark your
calendars to attend.
Invoices for 2023 assessments will be mailed March 1st.
Assessments are due April 1, 2023. Those who wish to pay their assessments in
two payments; half by April 1st and the balance by August 1st
are welcome to do so. An additional $10 administration fee will be added to
your assessments if you choose this option. Shareholders whose accounts are not
in good standing, will not be eligible to receive irrigation water. The ditch
riders will not contact you or schedule you for water if your
assessments are not paid.
Cold temperatures and snow should go together, please pray
for snow!
