Thanks to
some weather events providing rain either directly to the Penrose Area or
northernly in the Skaguay area, we were able to utilize the increase in the
creek flows coming into our system and almost able to finish 1st
irrigations throughout the system. We have been providing Penrose Water
District domestic water coming out of Brush Hollow Directly and pumping into
their ponds. This provided us use of all the water coming into the upper ditch for
irrigation purposes. This process does take overall coordination between
Penrose Water District and Beaver Park Water to make it successful. The AG Met
Sensor in Penrose indicated that we received a total of .99 in. of precipitation
for the month of July. This is wonderful news as we are still listed in the
moderately dry area on the Colorado Drought Monitor.
Reminder
to all shareholders that paid their assessments in two parts. The second half
of your assessments were due and payable by 8/1/2020. All assessments pay for
the operational costs of Beaver Park Water, Inc. Your benefit is the ability to
receive irrigation when it is available. During Drought years, such as this
year, availability of irrigation water is based on the water that we receive
down the creek that is released from Skaguay Reservoir. Regardless of how many
irrigations you may receive based on the availability of water, your
assessments are the same. Availability changes every year due to weather patterns, snow
fall, and rain fall. Shareholders that are not in good standing with Beaver
Park Water, Inc. are not eligible to receive irrigation water if available. You
will not be called by the ditch rider and not be put on the schedule to receive
an irrigation. It is your responsibility to pay the assessments.
Please be
aware, it is highly possible that we may have the water to begin second
irrigations. Make sure your ready when the ditch rider calls. There is no way
to determine just how many shareholders or how long the water will last, just be
prepared.
Continue
to pray for rain.
