MAY UPDATE
The month of
May proved to be a wonderful month of moisture with ½ inch of moisture in the
form of SNOW on Mother’s Day and 1.70 inches of moisture in the form of RAIN
and HAIL over the Memorial Day weekend. This mixed with irrigation water deliveries
provided Penrose with much deserved and need moisture. We have been blessed.
First
Irrigations should be completed by 6/15/14. Shareholders that planted new
fields that needed to wait out the freeze before planting should be the final
of the first irrigations. Due to excessive water Second irrigations officially
will begin 6/1/14. At this time we are
very optimistic, however we have yet to experience any temperatures
consistently over 80 degrees.
We have
experienced a significant number of property sales and with that we have new
shareholders. Please keep in mind that our system is not like any other, be
patient and share your knowledge of how to irrigate. Good neighbors make good
irrigations possible. If you are one of the many new shareholders, please take
the time to sign up for a tour of our system. A tour will help you understand
how the system works and just where the water comes from. Call the office at 372-3664 to sign up.
Board of
Directors meetings are held monthly. Every 2nd Tuesday of the month
at 7:30 pm at the office located at 209 Broadway, Penrose. All shareholders are
welcome and encouraged to attend.
Those
shareholders paying their 2nd half of assessments are reminded that
payment is due August 1, 2014 and an additional $10 surcharge fee is added when
assessments are not paid in full by April 1st.
