OCTOBER 2012 Updates
October was a busy month for the staff, cleaning the canals and doing general maintenance work. Additionally as we are part of the UNCC (Utility notification Center of Colorado) we have had an unusually high number of requests to perform locates. This service ensures that any work done, such as planting trees, installing utility services or putting up fences does not interfere with our canal system. The last week of October we received over twenty locate requests.
Penrose residents and visitors enjoyed the annual Penrose Apple Day parade in a fall atmosphere of cooler temperatures with a high for the day of 43 degrees. The cooler temperatures did not produce much moisture for our drought, only .03 inches of precipitation was recorded for that day. Penrose also received .06 inches of rain on October 12th and the snow overnight on October 25th, provided 1-2 inches of snow fall throughout the area. In this stage of drought, we embrace any form of moisture.
We have added a new weather link to our website. This link provides actual current weather status here in Penrose. A special thanks to Pat Lindley and the Davis Weatherlink Network for allowing us to add this to our web site.
***Past due accounts are incurring interest monthly. To avoid additional costs, it will be necessary to pay overdue balances before the beginning of the month. Assessment fees are necessary to pay for the original loans that started Beaver Park Water and all operational costs. ***
